hands-on Sr. Manager, Data Center Site Services to lead operations
across complex data center environments. This leader will own the
full lifecycle of physical infrastructure-spanning capacity
planning, power distribution, logistics, vendor management, and
day-to-day operations across multiple sites. You will play a
critical role in driving operational excellence, managing hardware
installations and decommissions, mentoring a high-performing team,
and ensuring seamless coordination between cross-functional
stakeholders.WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- Operational Oversight: Direct the daily operations of multiple
high-density data center sites, ensuring efficiency, reliability,
and uptime.
- Power & Capacity Management: Lead strategic power and capacity
planning efforts, maintaining visibility into usage trends and
future requirements.
- Hardware Lifecycle: Oversee the full hardware lifecycle,
including receiving, inventory, racking, configuration,
decommissioning, and disposal.
- Team Leadership: Hire, develop, and mentor a diverse and
inclusive team of full-time employees and contractors across
locations. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and
continuous improvement.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors
and contractors to ensure timely and quality delivery of services,
maintenance, and installations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, collaborative
partnerships with internal teams including Engineering, Networking,
Security, and Facilities to align on shared goals and
initiatives.
- Site Expansion: Plan and execute expansion efforts across
existing and new data center sites in line with business growth
strategies.
- Logistics Management: Lead logistics operations, including
hardware deliveries, inventory tracking, and on-site material
handling processes.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement standardized
procedures, KPIs, and tools to drive operational consistency and
performance across all sites.
- Engineering Lab Operations (Bonus): Experience managing or
supporting complex engineering lab environments is a plus.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in data center operations or site
services, with at least 3 years in a senior management or
multi-site leadership role.
- Proven expertise in power distribution, capacity planning, and
hardware lifecycle management in a high-availability
environment.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, mechanical
and electrical systems, and logistics operations.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading diverse,
distributed teams in fast-paced settings.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and
communication skills.
- Experience negotiating and managing vendor and contractor
relationships.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations and building
scalable systems and processes.
- Bonus: Experience managing engineering labs or R&D data
center environments.
- Bonus: Experience managing or supporting enterprise data
storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS, object storage).Preferred
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a
related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g.,
DCIM, PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
- Experience in hyperscale or enterprise-scale data centers.
- Familiarity with DCIM tools, asset management systems, and
infrastructure monitoring platforms.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you
will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in
compliance with Pure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work
travel, or other approved leave.The annual base salary range is:
$211,000- $264,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role,
level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple
geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the
labor market across the applicable locations.This role may be
eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.And because we understand
