Job Description PITCO FOODS WAREHOUSE FORKLIFT OPERATOR JOB BENEFITS: Top Quality Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits Competitive Weekly Salary Sponsored 401K Retirement Account with Company Match Complimentary Life Insurance $10,000 Paid Holidays JOB DESCRIPTION : Stockers work in a warehouse environment, receiving, unloading, and unpacking cartons, crates, and boxes of bulk or packaged goods, and checking labels and information before moving it to where it needs to be. The daily duties are physically demanding, requiring lifting heavy loads and moving around the workfloor most of the shift. KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities for Stocker Perform general stocking duties on a daily basis including storing and stocking products in/on bins, pallets, shelves, and racks Move, handle, and transport finished products to other departments within a warehouse environment by utilizing hand jacks, pallet jack, forklifts, lift carts, and other means of transportation Stack merchandise on pallets using a Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack. Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards (including backroom and shelves), and dispose of trash Help and assist customers in finding merchandise and providing them with information Perform other duties as assigned Follow safety policies and procedures, and encourage colleagues to do the same High school diploma or GED strongly preferred 1-2 years of experience in area of responsibility Must be able to do simple mathematical calculations, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and computing percentages and ratios Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull heavy loads of 75 pounds in a physical environment Must be able to work 100% of the time moving about in the work area Ability to perform work tasks while bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching Previous experience in receiving, handling, and stocking in retail or warehouse/distribution environments PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California.
