Pacific Power Group is looking for a Journey Level Marine Field Technician who will focus on a variety of marine applications in support of our companies continued growth in the San Francisco Bay region.Pacific Power Group is one of the most established companies in the Vancouver/Portland area currently operating sales, service, and parts distribution with facilities in Washington, Alaska, Oklahoma, and Hawaii.   • Determine unit condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies.
  • Complete engine overhauls as well as other repairs identified during the diagnostic process.
  • Verify performance by conducting test drives, sea trials and making necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service & parts options.
  • Maintains vehicle records with an accurate documentation of service and repairs.
  • Maintain a safe & organized work environment.
  • Accept ownership for accomplishing new & different requests & exploring value added opportunities.
  • Communicate while on site with customer in a profession manner.
  • MTU engine commissioning trials. What we need from you:
    • Fluent with electrical multi-meters.
    • 5+ years' experience working with marine large bore diesel engines.
    • Strong diesel engine electronic control experience essential.
    • Strong Lap top/PC skills required.
    • Must display exceptional customer service skills.
    • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license and must be insurable.
    • Must work well independently as well as part of a team.
    • Preferred strong MTU experience.
    • Preferred experience with Diasys software.
    • Preferred experience with MTU MCS/RCS electronics.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold.
      • Climb/crawl in confined spaces.
      • Walk, stand, bend, kneel, or stoop for long periods of time.
      • Work at heights in excess of 4 feet.
      • Periodically lift over 75 pounds.
      • Wear a hazardous atmosphere respirator or other face coverings as required for the job.
      • Work on call as needed.
