• Greet all visitors, incoming clients, and colleagues in a welcoming, professional manner.
• Engage with all clients individually and collectively using Horizon Services philosophy and practices.
• Provide program orientation to incoming clients
• Collect and check all client property at admission in accordance with safety procedures.
• Monitor client behavior and activities and professionally intervene when appropriate
• Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of all Detox Center facilities, bedrooms, and common client areas.
• Primarily responsible for meal preparation and distribution to clients throughout the shift.
• Assist clients with laundry and bed preparation.
• Answer incoming telephone calls as needed
• Monitor cleanliness of immediate outside areas of the Detox Center.
• While assisting clients with meals and clean-up, provide continual monitoring of behavioral and withdrawal symptoms that could lead to crisis.
• Develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with all Cherry Hill team members.
• Maintain daily collaborations with Sobering/Crisis Services staff of all levels for maximum operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all current and new agencies Cherry Hill/HSI is coordinating with.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality to perform duties as scheduled and assigned.
• Attend all mandatory staff meetings and required agency meetings unless excused by Program Director.
• Responsible for informing Program Manager of household, environmental, participant, and personal needs when appropriate.
• Maintain a basic knowledge of medications used by clients.
• Drive program vehicle when necessary.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Program ManagerWhat will make you successful in this role?
  • Certification as Substance Abuse Counselor in CA or Registered and actively working on certification.
  • Experience with Alameda County systems, Insyst, and Clinicians Gateway.
  • Experience with substance use, mental health and human services direct service or supervision experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of alcoholism/addiction treatment and Motivational Interviewing concepts and techniques;
  • Able to handle and de-escalate emergency situations.
  • Flexible schedule: must be willing to work days and nights on a rotating basis;
  • Must show a demonstrated knowledge of computers; including but not limited to, data input, internet navigation, Microsoft word, etc. Ability to write clear narrative reports and treatment notes.What else is required?
    • Valid California driver's license with a good driving record and car insurance.
    • Current CPR/First Aid certificate desirable
