We are currently seeking a LiDAR Perception Algorithm Engineer for our ADAS/Autonomous Driving team. This position requires an experienced professional with strong programming skills and solid knowledge of state-of-the-art perception algorithms.

Your Role:

  • Work in a world-class ADAS/Autonomous Driving team
  • Design of the lidar perception software architecture for Lv.2/3/4 autonomous driving systems
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure a seamless and robust implementation
  • Test, release, and launch the lidar perception algorithm into the Lucid production programs
  • Support the production validation and verification of the lidar perception algorithms using prototype vehicles, pre-production vehicles
  • Propose cutting edge S/W algorithms for the future autonomous driving systems

Expectations:

  • At least one year of experience in Point Cloud Processing, preferably hands-on experience beyond merely leveraging existing libraries (e.g. PCL).
  • Strong theoretical foundations and knowledge with state-of-the-art works in either: i) classic LiDAR based perception algorithms (e.g. spatial data structures, 3D point features extraction, keypoint estimation, registration, reconstruction, etc.) ; or ii) LiDAR related deep learning algorithms (e.g. 3D Object Detection, Ground Plane Estimation, 3D Semantic Segmentation, etc.). Knowledge and experience in both tracks would be a merit.
  • Proficient in C++, ability to write efficient, clean, and well-documented code which are easy for other engineers to understand and maintain
  • A practical hands-on approach to complement the theoretical knowledge and creativity required to solve Autonomous Driving
  • Excellent communication skills and good team player
  • Proven track record of technical excellence

Advantageous:

  • Experience in using ROS, DDS, or other middleware systems
  • Experience in one other areas related to perception for ADAS / AD: optimization, sensor fusion, sensor processing, computer vision, sensor calibration, machine learning, deep learning
  • Experience in CUDA implementation for point cloud processing
  • Knowledge of any other programming languages (e.g. Matlab / Simulink, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Experience testing complex perception systems
  • Experience in working in agile development teams
  • Experience in component and system integration, testing and verification on system and vehicle level

Education:

  • BS minimum in the areas of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields
  • At least 3 years of work experience or a Ph.D. in a related field for a senior position
  • Advanced degrees preferred
