We are seeking a seasoned maintenance professional to join our fast-growing team! You are passionate about working with machines and making them sing. You are an experienced leader who can successfully drive organizational change implementing key components of a Reliability Centered and Total Productive Maintenance programs that target increased productivity, machine uptime and lowered overall asset maintenance costs.

You can adapt to changing demands in a dynamic work environment with the ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines for the team. You are committed to developing continuous improvements throughout our production and maintenance areas scaling manufacturing output and supporting our double-digit growth!

Success Factors (Frist 12-18 Months)

  • Maintenance Management Expert: You have successfully shifted the work of our technical teams from reactive/corrective to proactive practices by implementing a robust preventative maintenance program. You are leading the implementation of the foundational parts of the Total Productive Maintenance program through your collaboration with Engineering, Operations and Quality leaders. Prioritizing on the first three pillars of Autonomous Maintenance, Focused Improvement and Planned Maintenance you lead their implementation to ensure they are well understood by the organization and have programs underway that show clear improvement in operation's performance. You are working closely with the Technical Operations Supervisor to establish department KPIs and team performance by reviewing the status of maintenance work orders, on time PMs, overall asset reliability, maintenance costs and team productivity using MPulse software. Targets are set and achieved with a constant focus on continuous improvement. Provide leadership to guide the team through effective root cause analysis and system failures to prescribe corrective preventative maintenance measures. You are leveraging the data collection in MPulse to help the team to identify and develop Predictive maintenance on key assets to prevent unnecessary unplanned downtime. You are a technical leader that can provide operations and maintenance expertise to the organization on automated equipment with advanced Instrumentation and controls.
  • Operational Support Advocate: Manufacturing and distribution teams are wowed by the rapid response and excellent service you and your teams provide on a day to day basis. Your technicians are known to mentor and coach others on operations and maintenance practices that drive sustainable line performance and throughput. Processing and production teams count on your teams' support to reliably produce scheduled quantities in order to deliver in-house production of finished goods to customers.
  • Asset Sustainability Visionary: You have created a multi-year plan for major equipment rebuilds across the Flavor Factory that will ensure maximum productive life of all processing and production assets. Equipment center rebuilds are calendarized and resourced well in advance of equipment failures in order to optimize direct and indirect costs and ensure service continuity. New equipment installations always include thoughtful consideration of and consideration for preventative maintenance and spare parts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Incorporating the principles from Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Focus Improvement you will lead the effort to show steady and permanent improvements in the packaging and process area OEE's. You provide a detailed focus to packaging line changeovers through the development of a documented step by step guide with internal quality controls to ensure that startups are defect free and seamless every time. Collaborating with the technical team, you help to identify and develop programs and projects to reduce waste and scrap from the operation. You are moving Torani to a best in class spare parts inventory management by implementing a system that ensures part availability, dedicated locations and cost control targets are met. Provide leadership with the team to ensure our maintenance tool carts and machine room are always well organized and clean.
  • Leadership and Team Development: You are mentoring and developing team members through a "lead-by-example" approach. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. All team members and other leaders in the Flavor Operations group are kept in the loop and informed on a regular basis. You manage the overall Maintenance budget working with your team to monitor expenditures, labor costs, and capital projects to ensure compliance department budgets. You ensure that staffing levels and skills levels are aligned with maintenance needs per shift to support production targets and objectives. You ensure that the maintenance team has adequate skills and training to meet all of the technical requirements of our maintenance work. You access your team's skills gaps and develop training programs that increase team member capabilities to meet the demands of an automated factory. You have established technical/mechanical training programs for machine operators to empower them! Regular feedback and coaching are the norm and everyone has a thoughtful personal development plan in place.
  • Safety & Sustainability: You always see things thru a lens of safety. You have built programs to ensure compliance, consistency, and effectiveness in our safety practices. Additionally, you will have driven safety meetings and recurring safety activities collaborating with other Flavor Operations leaders. You will have used JHAs to mitigate safety risks by assessing potential hazards, developing & implementing solutions, and evaluating their effectiveness.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering a plus, 4 year degree in a technical field a minimum requirement.
  • 10 years of people and budget management experience.
  • At least 10 years of expertise in industrial maintenance, high speed bottling operations, automated batching and blending operations.
  • At least 6 years of experience in industrial controls and automation
  • Wonderware or other MES software systems
  • PLC programming
  • Control System design and trouble shooting

  • Maintenance Systems: Should have direct experience implementing a major maintenance program including the following:
  • Total Productive Maintenance
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance
  • Predictive Maintenance

  • Should have direct experience implementing the following focused improvement tools
  • 6 sigma
  • 5S
  • DMAIC and Kaizen
  • Other Lean Manufacturing Tools

  • Experience with MPulse or similar maintenance management software
  • Live in SF bay area, or willing to relocate at own expense
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Able to work M-F during normal business hours
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
