• Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,040 - $5,400
• Location: Oakland, CA (94602) - Bay Area / Northern California
• Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center - Hospital
• Start Date: August 3, 2026
• End Date: February 1, 2027
• Shift: 3x12-hour days (07:00 - 19:00); may consider 5x8-hour shifts
• Weekend Coverage: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per month required
• Duration: 26 weeks (locum tenens contract)
• Patient Load: 20-25 patients split with resident on floor; 20 clinic patients/day
• EMR: EPIC

• Active California Physician Assistant license required (PA-C preferred)
• California DEA registration required
• Minimum 1 year of trauma experience required; Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ATLS certification preferred; must be willing to obtain within one year of start
• Experience with arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes strongly preferred
• ICU, neurosurgery, ED, or orthopedics experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills, responsiveness, and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

• Provide critical care and trauma management for patients from ED to floor to ICU
• Manage trauma activations (typically 5-12 per shift)
• Perform procedural skills including arterial lines, central line placement, and chest tube insertion
• Collaborate closely with residents, trauma surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide continuity of care for patients aged 15-101
• Support all areas of the trauma service as needed and ensure timely, accurate documentation in EPIC EMR

• High-volume Level 1 Trauma Center experience - strong trauma and critical care exposure
