Medical Laboratory Technician Location: San Leandro, CA Agency:
Acruex Health Pay: $26 to $32 per hour Shift Information: Evenings
- 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Permanent
(Full Time) Pay Rate: $26.00 - $32.00/Hourly. Summary: Under
supervision of Laboratory Manager, performs waived laboratory tests
in a remote or mobile setting. Also responsible for monitoring
quality of reagents and working condition of instruments. Tasks and
Responsibilities: Receives specimens from phlebotomists and
couriers. May operate a delivery van to bring the mobile lab to an
area of high volume of STAT testing when applicable. Enters patient
demographics and test orders into lab information system. Checks
the quality control of each test prior to running and reporting
patient results. Ensures QC is within appropriate limits and brings
problems to a supervisor/manager in real time. Performs lab testing
in the areas of point of care which may include Chemistry,
Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular and Coagulation. Data entry of
test results. Confirms abnormal results prior to releasing and
bring any “rare and improbable” test results to the attention of a
supervisor/manager. Performs blood collection to include
venipuncture and capillary specimens. Processes specimens and logs
requisitions as needed. Close monitoring of STAT board to ensure
STAT TAT goal is obtained consistently. Assists in maintaining an
adequate inventory of supplies and ensures compliance with state
requirements for documentation of lot numbers with quality control
and specimen records. Troubleshoots problems (client, instrument,
computer) as needed. Requirements Requirements: Valid driver’s
license with a good driving record and ability to drive safely.
Familiarity with lab process and workflow. Previous experience with
phlebotomy and laboratory testing preferred. High school degree or
