Assistant Practice Administrator - Behavioral Health

This position has a broad range of responsibilities in the overall
day to day management of the outpatient and/or residential programs
and serves as second in command to the Administrator. The position
carries both clinical and operational responsibilities and may
include the direct management of a service site with all
accompanying duties. This position is aligned with the mission and
culture of Stars and SBHG and to support a positive, inclusive, and
healthy work environment for all employees. As a people manager you
will responsible for multiple direct reports.
Hires, trains, and supervises staff as assigned.
Develops and implements systems within the overall milieu in the
facility and general operations to facilitate quality client care
and optimum facility operations.
Supports tasks of the Administrator as assigned (e.g., facilitates
meetings in Administrator's absence, carries out projects on
Administrator's behalf, etc).
Provides clinical and operational support to the leadership
Remains updated on all current County, State, and Federal laws,
ethics, regulations, and requirements. Ensures these are
incorporated into agency policies and practices.
Develops, reviews, and revises program policies and procedures and
Monitors budget to ensure maximum use of available funding across
Assists Administrator in the gathering and reporting of monthly
data reports to stakeholders and governing entities (i.e. DMH, LPS,
Acts as liaison with various external agencies to promote business
Maintains on-going relations with other county agencies, health
care facilities, placement centers and other resources necessary to
affect the continuum of care for individuals served. Actively
pursues new partnerships and collaboration opportunities.
Availability in person and by phone to assist in crisis
intervention and provide support and assistance in problem
Implements and monitors new programs as developed by the
Administrator and Regional Administrator.
May provide oversight of psychiatric services and processes,
coordinating medication support.
Develops, negotiates, implements, and monitors contractual
agreements with outside contractors and vendors with approval from
Coordinates and manages activities for the programs in cooperation
with the Administrator.
Partners with the Quality Assurance Department to develop and
implement processes and systems to ensure compliance and quality
Partners with the Training Department to implement a robust
training and professional development curriculum.
Actively participates in the agency's and SBHG's Total Quality
Management and Continuous Quality Improvement systems which support
compliance with Joint Commission and other accreditation standards
Participates in TQM activities as requested including CQI
subcommittees, probes, peer review, audit and/or tracer
Master's degree in a social service or health-related field.
Five (5) years' experience in a behavioral health field
Three (3) years' experience in behavioral health management
License or Certification
Licensed as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist with at
least two years of experience post licensure preferred.
Valid California Driver's License.
Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
