OperationsSUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:The Vice President (VP) of Operations
will serve as a key member of PCC Logistics Executive Leadership
Team, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer as a
trusted strategist and operational manager. The VP of Operations
provides the overall vision, direction, strategy, leadership, and
management necessary to ensure that the company has the proper
operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and
technology systems in place to effectively grow the organization
and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.The VP of
Operations has direct leadership of our operations including, but
not limited to, areas of responsibility of work force management,
multiple business units, capacity planning, IT, scheduling, data,
and analytics, etc. They will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee
operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and
implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems
to meet current and future needs of the organization.DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with executive leadership, other divisions, and
departments to develop and meet company goals while supplying
expertise and guidance on operational projects and systems
- Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out
the organization s goals and objectives
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes,
technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational
processes and use of resources and materials
- Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the
President and other executive leadership
- Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as
those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency,
warehouse acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the
organization's business plan and vision
- Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related
policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure
effective and consistent support and execution
- Manages the implementation of operational processes across all
business units
- Establishes and administers the department's budget
- Partners with Human Resource Department and COO regarding
performance trends and retention within the division
- Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is
developed and provided
- Engages and inspires Division leaders in operational leadership
skills; including being a driver of process and culture
changes
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in
operations management
- Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and
staffing requirements for projects
- Analyzes reporting, financials and sales and drives changes
needed to remain competitive in all areas
- Function as the operational counterpart to the COO by managing
senior leaders to ensure each team s goals promote rapid growth,
stay within budget, and are executed upon in a timely manner
- Engender a culture of accountability with strong KPIs that
facilitate focus and accurately monitor performance
- Translate strategic roadmaps into clear and actionable business
plans
- Lead weekly leadership meetings and quarterly off-sites with
objectivity, diplomacy, and effectiveness
- Guide complex, ambiguous business decisions with rigorous
analysis and influential communication
- Full P&L responsibility and ownership of the financial
model
- Understand the mandate of each business function and partner
with department heads to lead financial planning processes (i.e.,
business reviews, budgets, forecasts, long-term plans)
- Work closely with Management team to oversee key accounting
functions, including A/R, A/P, payroll, benefits, employee
expenses, audits, compliance, and tax obligations
- Lead strategic human capital conversations to inform
organizational design and development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting and retention
strategy
- Manage risk and oversee key legal processes in partnership with
our outside Counsel
- Oversee facilities management to ensure a productive work
environment for all employees
- Performs other related duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ATTRIBUTES:
- General knowledge of freight, railroad, cargo, etc.
- Ability to understand and analyze P&L
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent
organizational skills and attention to detail and extensive
knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the
industry
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to develop
trust and credibility, lead by example, and motivate
high-performing teams
- Excellent management skills, including the ability to supervise
multiple disparate teams and develop talent
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a complex
environmentQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are required:
- Strong operational experience
- Prior experience leading a multi-site operation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to communicate with other team members, visitors, and
customers in an effective, pleasant, courteous and tactful
manner
- Computer experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft

- English language proficiency, to include verbal and written
communicationEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant Bachelor s Degree or equivalent work experience of
direct involvement in warehousing, transportation, and/or logistics
fields.
- Minimum of 10 years of industry-related experience including
three years in upper management requiredSDL2017
