career that's built for you About the Role Lead a multidisciplinary
Guidance Navigation Control (GN&C) team that designs, develops,
and fields advanced control technologies for defense and commercial
customers. As the principal algorithm authority, you will shape the
next generation of flight, surface, and space control subsystems,
ensuring they meet Lockheed Martin’s rigorous product standards and
mission objectives. What You'll Do • Direct GN&C engineers and
systems integrators through concept, simulation, model based
design, hardware in the loop testing, and flight ready prototype
delivery. • Produce detailed algorithmic specifications,
implementation requirements, documentation, and verification plans.
• Coordinate closely with perception, mission planning, simulation,
and test teams for seamless system integration. • Translate
customer operational needs into technical solutions that leverage
cutting edge GN&C capabilities. • Communicate technical
strategies, risks, and progress to senior leadership, program
managers, and external partners. How You’ll Deliver • Lead end to
end development cycles from initial concept through qualification
and fielding. • Develop and validate control algorithms using
MATLAB/Simulink and generate auto code for target hardware. •
Perform stability analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and PID/PD
controller tuning to meet performance targets. • Mentor junior
engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and
continuous learning. • Stay current with GN&C advancements and
incorporate state of the art approaches across perception,
planning, and control domains. Successful applicants generally
possess 5 years of related experience and may have a post-secondary
degree or training in a related discipline. Skill Requirements: : •
Proven experience with MATLAB / Simulink and programming in Python,
C, C++, or Fortran. • Deep understanding of classical control
concepts (PID/PD controllers, stability analysis, Monte Carlo
analysis). • Demonstrated ability to take a product from concept
through qualification and fielding. • Strong verbal and written
communication skills. Security Clearance / Work Authorization : •
To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position
requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen. • Applicants
must be able to obtain Final Secret clearance to be considered
qualified. • Although not required to start, the selected applicant
must be eligible to obtain, and maintain, a government issued
Secret clearance for long term employment on this program. Desired
skills • Experience modeling and controlling 3 phase motor systems.
• Hands on work with FPGAs or microcontrollers, including auto code
generation from Simulink. • Leadership experience guiding small
engineering teams. • Formal systems engineering training or
certification. • Design or test experience with missile or space
segment subsystems. • Proficiency with MBSE tools (Cameo) and
requirements tools (IBM DOORS). • Scripting experience in .dxl or
VBA for automation. • Familiarity with ePDM and change control

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be
performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work
Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of
alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our
employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day
work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules
provide employees with additional time away from the office and are
in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Security Clearance
Information This position requires a government security clearance,
you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Pay Rate: The annual
base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts,
and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado,
Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont,
Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $217,695. For states not
referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect
the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary
information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers
factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of
the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key
skills as well as market and business considerations when extending
an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life

receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave,

The annual base salary range for this position in most major
metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is
$142,000 - $246,100. For states not referenced above, the salary
range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work
