Job Description:
Job Description The EHS engineer will execute EHS projects to
improve site safety, reduce R&D and manufacturing process
risks, and ensure compliance with internal standards and external
regulations. The EHS engineer will play a significant role in
implementing management systems to support Cubergs lithium metal
battery manufacturing ambitions. The EHS engineer will work closely
with team members from Engineering, R&D, Production,
Maintenance, etc. to integrate robust solutions to challenging
manufacturing, battery, and facility safety issues. The ideal
candidate excels in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic
startup environment. They are a solutions oriented individual who
can coach key stakeholders and are passionate about safety in the
manufacturing and new technologies space. About Cuberg is

Northvolt, a global supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery
cells and systems. As Northvolt's Advanced Technology Center
operating in Silicon Valley, Cuberg is developing and
commercializing lithium metal batteries, building an innovation
ecosystem around lithium-ion technology, and leveraging Northvolt's
state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities to rapidly scale up

energy. Responsibilities Develop environmental, health, and safety
(EHS) programs to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and reduce
number of workplace and environmental incidents Mentor engineers,
technicians, operators, and other stakeholders in assessing hazards
and inherently safer design (ISD) Document corrective actions from
various audits, investigations, incidents, etc. and track to
closure Facilitate various risk assessments such as HAZOP, PHA,
FMEA, LOPA, etc. and recommend risk mitigation actions for
identified hazards/risks Assist with design reviews and
implementing engineered solutions for improved lithium battery
safety on R&D and manufacturing equipment Requirements B.S. in
Engineering or Industrial Hygiene 3 years of related work
experience in the EHS, lithium battery, aviation, or manufacturing
field Able to read PFDs, GAs, P&IDs, Architectural permit set
drawings, and CAD drawings Experience leading or facilitating PHAs,
HAZOPs, and other risk assessments Familiar with relevant industry
