  • Senior Chemical Process Engineer/Project Lead We're prepping for scheduled maintenance! Application submissions will be closed from 11:00 pm EST Friday to 9:00 am EST on Saturday. Senior Chemical Process Engineer/Project Lead Georgia Pacific is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer/Project Lead to join our team! This individual will provide engineering expertise for conceptual studies, feasibility analysis, design, operation and troubleshooting of a new technology that can reclaim the previously unrecyclable commercial waste going to landfills throughout the world. The initial focus will be optimizing our first installation on the West Coast and developing the second installation potentially in Europe. This position will be a home-based role, with 30% - 70% domestic and international travel - ASenior Chemical Process Engineer/Project Lead creates value by using creativity and inventive skills to address challenges associated with new and innovative technology. They will participate in all phases of large project execution. Assist with skill development and training of technicians and optimize the recycling commercial operation.     • Leading technical development project work and advance projects from inception through completion
    • Participate in laboratory experiments and manufacturing facility trials
    • Perform preliminary technical and economic feasibility studies for the modification of existing or entirely new system installations
    • Provide engineering leadership for development of process design, start-up, optimization, benchmarking and gap closure
    • Coordination, review and approval of work done by engineering consultants
    • Assist with training of operators and process engineering personnel
    • Develop and/or maintain corporate design/construction and operating/maintenance standards for Juno - Technology Systems and Equipment
    • Leveraging strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with coworkers of various technical levels and business partners with the potential for leadership opportunities The Experience You Will Bring Requirements:
      • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering
      • Five or more years of experience with engineering design, operation, maintenance, and/or manufacturer's technical service representatives
      • Able to travel 30% to 70% domestically & internationally
      • Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence) What Will Put You Ahead
        • Five or more years of experience with supervision responsibility for direct reports
        • Experience in operation and maintenance of pulping, bleaching and chemical recovery facilities
        • Experience working within a paper mill's pulp and/or power and recovery areas
        • Experience with PLCs or process controls
        • Mass and Energy balance expertise
        • Previous experience or knowledge of:
        • Autoclaving
        • Metal & plastics recycling processes
