Job Description:

Vantage Robotics is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for the mechanical assembly DFM, circuit board level fixture and testing design and general process evaluation and improvement. Key focus will be to increase efficiency and quality through product and process improvements. This position will require a self starting individual that takes initiative and can be a sole contributor but also be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Things you will do

  • Plan, develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes for existing and future products
  • Develop and design factory fixture and jigs for assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Control all activities in SMT and final production processes for electronic products, including RF
  • products
  • Create, validate, and maintain clear and up-to-date manufacturing work instructions and quality
  • control specifications
  • Work with Development Engineering on DFM of assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Ensure that product design and manufacturing requirements are met by the CM manufacturing
  • process
  • Provide detailed process guidelines to the CM and evaluate the CM process to ensure all
  • requirements are met
  • Verify ECO implementation at CM premises (product BOMs and manufacturing related process
  • documentation)
  • Participate in the development and integration of quality and product documentation
  • Interface to Design Engineering and CM for all technical issues related to product manufacturing,
  • test, and quality
  • Manage NPI builds and product releases on behalf of manufacturing
  • Provide training to CM related to product documentation and manufacturing requirements
  • Review new product releases for Production readiness and accuracy of product and process
  • documentation
  • Author and control product and process quality through detailed written procedures and work
  • instructions
  • Work with component suppliers on new part releases and process development
  • Verify test process at factories
  • Drive value engineering initiatives

    We anticipate your qualifications and skills will include
    • BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial engineering preferred
    • Manufacturing/design experience around injection molding and 3D printing.
    • At least 3 years experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or product
    • development
    • Experience evaluating and developing manufacturing processes in parallel with engineering
    • development
    • Experience delivering products from design to production
    • Experience developing processes and procedures
    • Preferred proficiency with In-circuit board level testing and final functional testing
    • Strong analytical and documentation skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to manage variety of tasks
    • In-depth understanding of electronic products, design, engineering, manufacturing, and
    • manufacturing test engineering processes
    • Knowledge of DFx and SPC principles and methods
    • Experience setting up quality improvement programs
    • Aerospace experience is a plus
