At Geltor we design award-winning ingredients for the world's biggest consumer product companies. Geltor is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team in San Leandro, CA. The Senior Accountant will join our expanding Accounting team, providing comprehensive experience to support Geltor's expansion and ongoing financial success. This role will ensure efficiency and accuracy in our day-to-day GL accounting and period end close process. This position will be trusted to apply thorough knowledge of accounting processes and sharp analytical skills to build out accounting practices, support internal controls, and provide accurate financial information to fuel further growth.-- Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain balance sheet and general ledger accounts by recording, verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies
• Lead month- and year-end financial close, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Prepare financial statements, analyses, and reports
• Prepare documentation for external audit and tax teams--
• Develop, document, and implement scalable accounting processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls--
• Fully support and help drive initiatives to improve processes and recommend modifications to finance systems and procedures Requirements:
  • Comprehensive background in accounting, including in-depth knowledge of GAAP--
  • Experience independently maintaining general ledger
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals including types of accounts and balance sheet vs. operating expenses, etc.--
  • Ability to design/recommend accounting processes based on best practices for organization size and stage of maturity
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and complete high-quality projects amidst tight timelines and competing deadlines; exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience utilizing finance/accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks Online, Bill.com , Expensify, NetSuite)
  • A positive, open, and intellectually curious team player who embraces the challenges and excitement of an entrepreneurial business-- Preferred:
    • GL/ERP implementation experience highly valued
    • Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g. Vlookups and pivot tables)
